ROSE GARDEN TRUNK
By Sherrie Colgain, Elite, OSCI The Rose trunk was found when a friend was curb shopping (trash pile). It was an old train trunk that I restored by sealing with Kiltz stain blocker and then with a spray can I base coated it sea green. I One Stroked the roses, leaves, and filler flower sprays with FolkArt paints. I then painted all the metal studs and hinges with metallic gold paint. I also replaced the leather carry strap with an old piece of belt.

COLUMBINE CLOCK
By Nancy Stolberg, Elite, OSCI I recently traveled to Denver to do a 2 day workshop. I met some of the most wonderful people in Denver. Marti Thompson and Tanya Taylor are 2 OSCI’s in the area that helped me with the workshop. They were so awesome! In fact when I found that the hotel had not booked my room for the first night, Marti and her husband opened their home to me! The students that attended the workshop were so memorable! The Mountain Columbine is the state flower of Colorado and I designed this clock to remind me of the wonderful time I had in Denver. The wooden clock can be purchased through Nancy Stolberg. COOKIES AND CARROTS
By Cathy Becker, Elite, OSCI It’s so much fun to find humor in our painting and this is just a small example. This design is great on a galvanized charger, but I’ve had a class where we used glazes and painted it on a ceramic cookie plate. Get creative and find a different surface….blue speckled aluminum camp plate, glass, wood, whatever.

CRACKLED POINSETTIA PICTURE FRAME
By Sandra Harling, Elite, OSCI This little picture frame was done using Plaid Crackle. I added a small amount of water to Midnight and applied it with a small slightly dampened sponge roller. This gave the crackle an uneven and a little different look.

I am married with four children and six grandchildren. They love to paint with their nana and Jordan will be thrilled to bits to see her picture in TSE. After having her picture in the local paper she said, “if you get your picture in the paper you’re famous so you need to get your picture in the paper so that you can be famous too nana”.

I have always loved crafts but found my passion when I started to do One Stroke. I have my own small studio in my home and teach at one of the Michaels stores in Calgary. I also have workshops scheduled in Saskatoon and Winnipeg as part of the requirements for becoming a Certifying Elite and have set my goal to be qualified before CE 2005.

FALL WELCOME SIGN
By Julie Motley, Elite, OSCI The ‘Welcome Sign” was designed and taught by Julie in Japan in the fall of 2002. The fall colors and flowers were a big hit over seas and was a fun project to do with all the Japanese teachers. It comes back to the U.S. just in time for fall this year, with the hopes that you will enjoy it too. Remember that the yellows are a little transparent so load your brush very full and use your favorite fall colors for the flowers.

Julie Motley has been working towards her Certifying Elite since becoming an Elite in March 2003 and hopes to pass qualifications any day now. She loves One Stroke painting and is working hard on getting the 2004 B.E.E. Painting & Crafting Expo ready. She is an active teacher, project designer and One Stroke advocate. Julie’s house is filled with 5 kids, 2 in laws, 3 dogs, a cat with kittens and a whole lot more. That’s why they call it the MotleyZOO.
Happy Painting!!

FRENCH COUNTRY BOWLS
By Cathy Becker, Elite, OSCI Don’t you just love the new Plaid Enamels? It’s time we find an easy way to use One Stroke. This design is painted on plain white ceramic bowls found at a discount store. Use the width of your brush to create checks and then place bees, ants and ladybugs in there too. What could be easier?
